Blades of Fire

Look at who we have here?? How wonderful!!! We have a talent like this in our office!!! Amazing!!

Couldn't  we be more lucky than to have amongst us the young talented  internationally acclaimed Anurag Rathi, who has made it to the Special  Olympics World Summer Games 2015, Los Angeles and bagged two Bronze  medals in Roller Skating100x2 Relay and 500 Mtr. Race  as well as a Silver and Bronze Medal which he won at the Special Olympic  Asia Pacific Regional Games – 2013 for Bocce Single and Double Event held at New Castle, Australia.

He  also has to his credit 33 other medals of which 6 are Gold, and the  rest comprising of Silver and Bronze medals that he has been honored  with at various National, State and School level competitions.

His  smile is infectious and more so is his passion. His dedication is  enthralling. There is always a twinkle in his eyes and an urge to do the  best that he can.

His father Dharampal Rathi  is an Army Serviceman who has always been supportive for Anurag. So also  the rest of his family members. He always had the freedom to study and  play as it pleased him. For them Anurag wasn't a burden but God's chosen  child. There was never any discrimination between him and his other  siblings and all were given the same love, affection and care. Till the  age of ten years, Anurag could hardly speak, but thanks to the special  care and medicines, the tide turned in his favour and he started  speaking. The whole family dotes on him and for them his voice is like  music to their ears.

His initial studies took  place at the village school level till Class V. For the betterment of  his studies, they took Anurag to the Amla Birla Kendra at Pilani where  he studied for one month. Seeing a unique spark in him, they further  guided him to go to DISHA which is a special school for Specially Able  persons.

Anurag's journey to fame started from  there. His teacher Ms. Kesar Ara has been instrumental in moulding  futures of many a specially able child to walk on their own with heads  held high. Anurag's  interest in sports such as Racing, Soft Ball and  Roller Skating have worked wonders for this young prodigy. His flair in  roller skating boosted his future prospects and propelled him into the  State, National and International arena of Specially Able sports  persons. On a daily basis, Anurag would spend nearly 10 hours practicing  on his roller skates. His painstaking efforts have not only made him  and his family proud but also his country.

Neerja  International had organized a workshop on Blue Pottery at Disha for  these specially able children. Anurag was fascinated on seeing the  beauty of the craft and after completing his studies at Disha, he joined  Neerja Blue Pottery to work here as an artisan. It certainly feels  proud to know of his achievements and it's indeed fortunate to have such  a jewel in the company.

A child at heart – you  can see him singing songs and dancing during his work break. He is  genuinely pleased to come daily to work at Neerja Blue Pottery works and  feels a bit perturbed when he isn't able to come on a Sunday which  happens to be a weekly off.
